It is referred to as the Garden of France due to the abundance of vineyards, fruit orchards (such as cherries), and artichoke, and asparagus fields, which line the banks of the Loire river. Notable for its historic towns, architecture, and wines, UNESCO added the central part of the Loire River valley to its list of World Heritage Sites.
This area is well catered for in all aspects of accommodation but if you are in a motorhome then an attractive alternative to the RV parks is France Passion where you can stay on farms or vineyards etc. free of charge but it is usually courteous to peruse any goods they may have for sale with no obligation to buy.
The Loire Valley lends itself to most forms of self-drive, from RVs to bicycles. The roads are quiet and mainly level.
